TalkFirst Baby & Toddler Signing Classes

For babies & toddlers from birth to 5 years

TalkFirst baby signing classes are fun and lively. Come and learn to sign with your baby and enjoy quality time together.

Classes include a mix of themed signs, rhymes, music and games which have been specially developed to appeal to babies up to 5 years. Classes are an intimate affair, numbers are strictly limited to 15 babies per class.

Don’t worry if you have never signed before, many of the others in your class will be the same as you and the signs are introduced step by step through music and play. The highlight of the lesson is the signing puppet Dexter! Dexter leads many of the activities and the children love him.

Everything about TalkFirst is of a high standard. You can be assured that all musical instruments, props and teaching materials are of superior quality. Most of the items your baby has contact with will be cleaned or sterilised before your class.

Every TalkFirst tutor has successfully completed our training and assessment programme. They are an animated bunch of characters who like to enjoy themselves at work! They also happen to be able to sign to a minimum standard of CACDP Level 1 British Sign Language and are DBS checked.

Classes run during term time and need to be pre booked and pre paid each half term.

Hi I’m Susan, I run baby signing classes in Rossendale, Burnley, Bury, Todmorden & Hebden Bridge.

My interest in baby signing began with my own children nearly 20 years ago. I’ve found it brilliant and I love it… come to the classes and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.

I have been running classes for 15 years and have a wealth of experience in baby signing and I have CACDP level 1 & level 2 in British Sign Language.

Class numbers are limited to 15 babies per class and so pre booking is essential. Classes are weekly during term time with price reductions for your 2nd and 3rd child. Join classes anytime, and start the fun!

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m a trained Primary school teacher with a British Sign Language Level 1 qualification and experience of teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

I’ve been delivering TalkFirst classes for over 5 years now – and I love it!! I believe passionately in promoting great communication skills between parents, carers and babies. I know music, rhyme and songs are an essential part of a child’s early development.

My classes also promote early social skills such as sharing and taking turns, and they are a great place to meet other parents, carers and babies too! I look forward to meeting you at one of my classes soon!
