Dexter’s FUNdraising
The idea for Dexter’s FUNdraising came about as a tribute to Susan’s dad Mel Howey, who lost his brave battle with a rare form of Parkinson’s disease in May 2018.
More recently, Susan was inspired to help a friend Lauren Ashworth and her own Dad Barry (Baz) Ashworth raise funds. He had glioblastoma a terminal brain cancer and The Brain Tumour Charity is very close to Lauren’s heart.
Following the huge success of the recent charity events Susan & Dexter have decided to FUNdraise throughout the year!
Dexter’s FUNdraising will feature Giant Dexter on tour (providing Susan’s husband Andrew doesn’t get his head stuck again!!)
It will always support Parkinson’s UK but every year will pick local charities to benefit.

Chloe’s Angels
Chloe recently found out the devastating news that she has an inoperable aggressive brain tumour and her time with us is short.
Her family and I are raising money to make every single day of her life magical.
Time is very precious and is all they have.

February 2020 FUNdraiser
Dexters most recent FUNdraising event was held at Bright Futures nursery school in Rawtenstall on Saturday 22nd February. We were inspired to hold the event by Lauren Ashworth who had been raising funds to help treat her fathers brain cancer. Sadly, her dad Barry (Baz) lost his fight a few days before, but Lauren was keen for us to carry on and funds are now being donated to Chloes Angels, Parkinsons UK (in memory of my dad) and The Brain Tumour Charity.

Hi I’m Susan, I run baby signing & toddler classes in Rossendale, Burnley, Bury, Todmorden & Hebden Bridge.
My interest in baby signing began with my own children nearly 20 years ago. I’ve found it brilliant and I love it… come to the classes and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
I have been running classes for 15 years and have a wealth of experience in baby signing and I have CACDP level 1 & level 2 in British Sign Language.
Class numbers are limited to 15 babies per class and so pre booking is essential. Classes are weekly during term time with price reductions for your 2nd and 3rd child. Join classes anytime, and start the fun!

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m a trained Primary school teacher with a British Sign Language Level 1 qualification and experience of teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I’ve been delivering TalkFirst classes for over 3 years now – and I love it!! I believe passionately in promoting great communication skills between parents, carers and babies. I know music, rhyme and songs are an essential part of a child’s early development.
My classes also promote early social skills such as sharing and taking turns, and they are a great place to meet other parents, carers and babies too! I look forward to meeting you at one of my classes soon!
