Expect the Unexpected! Summer 2020!

 Hello there – Susan & Julia here!

They say you should ‘expect the unexpected’ but I don’t think either of us could have imagined that,
as the year turned and we reached 2020, we would soon be offering all our classes as ‘online only!’
But here we are, and like so many other people we have had to adapt and have a re-think about
what we can do (while there are so many other things we can’t do…)
To say it’s been a learning curve is an understatement! Those of you who know us will probably be
aware that ‘technical’ stuff is not the kind of stuff we are particularly good at. But we are up for new
adventures so Susan has mastered Facebook Live for delivering her weekly live class and Julia has
learned how to film her classes and upload them to You Tube! Don’t even get us started on Zoom…
we literally shrieked with excitement when we finally managed to Zoom each other for the first time
(after several attempts!)
Like many people we felt very emotional and unsettled as our face to face classes had to stop, and
the final classes in nurseries were particularly heartfelt. Watching the children’s excited faces as they
danced and played, innocent of how the world outside was changing, and wondering when we
would next see them, or even if they would by then have moved on to their ‘next rooms’ or even to
school for some of our older ones!
But Dexter is still here, sunglasses and bucket & spade at the ready – and he’s going to be signing,
singing and playing in our Summer themed classes this term! The sun has already been shining and
the birds are singing, so why not get in touch and come and join us? Lots of your friends are already
here and enjoying having some ‘Dexter time’ beamed into their homes. Some parents have
commented on how nice it is to sit down and watch Dexter together with their little ones and have
some ‘normality’ back – this makes us both smile! So let’s spread a little happiness and continue to
have fun with Dexter xx
